Educational Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Ardhi completed his Bachelor\u2019s degree in Petroleum Engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2009. His strong interest in reservoir modeling and fluid flow encouraged him to pursue further studies at Texas A&M University, United States, one of the world\u2019s leading centers in petroleum engineering. At this institution, he earned a Master of Science degree in 2012 and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His doctoral research focused on two-phase flow modeling in gas wells with liquid loading<\/em>issues, which was subsequently published in various reputable international journals and conferences. This academic foundation has become a strong basis for the analytical and science-based approach that he continues to apply to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Academic and Scholarly Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2013, Dr. Ardhi has been actively serving as a lecturer in the Petroleum Engineering Study Program at ITB. In his role as an educator and researcher, he has been involved in the development of strategic research in the fields of reservoir engineering<\/em>, EOR, carbon capture, storage and utilization<\/em> (CCS\/CCUS), as well as the application of data analytics<\/em> and machine learning<\/em> for reservoir performance evaluation and forecasting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to research and teaching activities, Dr. Ardhi is also actively involved in academic-strategic initiatives and national energy forums. He is recorded as the Chairman of ITB Energy Summit 2025<\/em>, a strategic forum that brings together academics, industry, and policymakers to discuss challenges and the direction of Indonesia\u2019s energy transition. This role reflects his leadership capacity in orchestrating cross-sector discussions and strengthening ITB\u2019s position as a reference for strategic thinking in the energy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to academia, Dr. Ardhi has extensive professional experience as a consultant and lead engineer<\/em> in various strategic studies within the national oil and gas industry. He has led and contributed to field development optimization studies, reserves certification, design of waterflood<\/em> and EOR, well integrity<\/em>, and CCS\/CCUS studies for various operators and institutions, including Pertamina Group, SKK Migas, INPEX, and other energy companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His areas of expertise include reservoir simulation<\/em>, integrated EOR, subsurface data management<\/em>, smart well monitoring<\/em>, and the application of big data analytics<\/em> and machine learning<\/em> for technical decision-making. He is also proficient in various industry-standard software such as Petrel, Eclipse, Intersect, tNavigator, IPM, as well as Python and C++ programming for advanced technical model development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategic Role at OGRINDO ITB<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Senior Researcher<\/em> at OGRINDO ITB, Dr. Ardhi Hakim Lumban Gaol holds a strategic role in strengthening research capacity and based on subsurface engineering<\/em>.
