OGRINDO ITB proudly welcomes back Prof. Ir. Taufan Marhaendrajana, M.Sc., Ph.D. as Chairman<\/em> of OGRINDO ITB following his national leadership role as Deputy for Exploitation at SKK Migas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an alumnus of Petroleum Engineering at ITB with Master\u2019s and Doctoral degrees in Petroleum Engineering<\/em> from Texas A&M University, Prof. Taufan has a professional journey that spans academia, the global oil and gas industry, and national energy leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Conoco Indonesia and Schlumberger Product Center USA to various strategic positions at ITB and within Indonesia\u2019s energy sector, his journey reflects a combination of scientific expertise, leadership, and tangible contributions to technology development and the future of Indonesia\u2019s energy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n

Educational and Academic Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Taufan completed his undergraduate education in Petroleum Engineering at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). His interest in reservoir studies and petroleum engineering led him to pursue Master\u2019s and Doctoral studies in Petroleum Engineering<\/em> at Texas A&M University, United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This academic journey became an important foundation in building his competencies in engineering<\/em>, research, and oil and gas technology development.<\/p>\n\n\n

Career in the Global Oil and Gas Industry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Taufan\u2019s professional career began at Conoco Indonesia during the 1991\u20131992 period. This experience marked the beginning of his direct involvement in the energy industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He later continued his international career as a Senior Engineer<\/em> at Schlumberger Product Center, USA from 1999\u20132002. In this role, he was involved in engineering<\/em> and technology development within the global oil and gas industry, while also broadening his perspective on the challenges and innovations of the global energy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n

Contributions to Education and Research Development at ITB<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the academic environment at ITB, Prof. Taufan is recognized for his active role in the development of petroleum engineering education and research. He previously served as Head of the Undergraduate Petroleum Engineering Program at ITB during 2008\u20132009, as well as Head of the Master\u2019s and Doctoral Petroleum Engineering Programs at ITB during 2014\u20132017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, he was also entrusted as Head of the Drilling, Production, and Petroleum Management Research Group at ITB during 2021\u20132025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His contributions have not only focused on curriculum and educational development, but also on strengthening research culture, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the application of scientific knowledge to support industrial and societal needs.<\/p>\n\n\n
