The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) collaborates with Udayana University to organize International Conference on Physics and Technology of Advanced Materials (ICPTAM) which is combined with 8th Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Symposium (NNS) Workshop 2024. The event will take place on the Island of the Gods, Bali, from 7 to 10 October 2024.
This conference aims to bring together researchers in the field of advanced materials, both from Indonesia and from various countries in the world. Apart from strengthening research collaboration, this event is also an opportunity for self-development and increasing insight into the latest developments in the field of research-based physics and materials technology.
As a biennial international symposium that has been running since 2008, ICPTAM continues to be an important forum for sharing knowledge and innovation. This year, the conference is supported by Materials Research Society of Indonesia (MRS-Id) and Physical Society of Indonesia (PSI).
At this conference, Ogrindo ITB had the opportunity to present two researchers as representatives to publish research with the title "Interfacial properties improvement of AEC surfactant via Titanium dioxide nanoparticles“. This research examines the addition of titanium dioxide (TiO₂) nanoparticles to Alkyl Ethoxy Carboxylate (AEC) surfactant to improve interfacial properties in applications. Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). The results show that TiO₂ significantly reduces the interfacial tension (IFT) to two orders of magnitude lower, although its effect on the contact angle is only slight. This combination has the potential to increase EOR efficiency by mobilizing trapped oil in the reservoir.

Also present was Prof. Osamu Sugino from The University of Tokyo, Japan and Prof. Hadi Nur from Malang State University, Indonesia as the two main speakers. Apart from that, there were also prominent plenary speakers from various countries, such as South Korea, Taiwan, Great Britain, Thailand, the People's Republic of China (PRC), Japan and Singapore.
This conference is open to all topics related to nanoscience and nanotechnology, including but not limited to:
- Advanced Materials
- Electronics Materials and Microsystems
- Materials for Medicine
- Materials for Energy and the Environment
- Biomaterials and Polymers
- Quantum Computing
- Nano Fabrication
